Zone Warm Chicken Soup (3 Blocks)

This comforting, classic soup is perfectly balanced for the Zone Diet.

Ingredients

  • Protein (3 Blocks):
    • 84g Chicken Meat (cooked and shredded)
  • Carbohydrates (3 Blocks):
    • 130g Carrots (diced)
    • 90g Potatoes (diced)
    • 80g Onion (chopped)
  • Fats (3 Blocks):
    • 1 tsp Olive Oil
  • To Serve (Optional):
    • A dollop of Yogurt (40g)
    • A squeeze of Lemon juice
    • Fresh Parsley (chopped)
    • Chili flakes (for heat)

Instructions

  1. Prep and Sautรฉ: Heat the olive oil in a large pot. Sautรฉ the onion and carrots until softened (about 5-7 minutes).
  2. Boil: Add the potatoes and enough water or chicken broth to cover (about 4-5 cups). Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the potatoes are tender (10-15 minutes).
  3. Combine: Stir in the pre-cooked, shredded chicken. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes to combine flavors.
  4. Finish: Just before serving, whisk a portion of the hot broth into the yogurt to temper it (optional, creates a creamy texture). Stir the tempered yogurt mixture back into the pot. Serve hot with a squeeze of lemon and a sprinkle of parsley and chili.
